Historical and distinct world cultures

In the course of my study, i got a chance to enhance my study of the different masked dance that happens in my hometown Kathmandu. i was able to study the inter disciplinary and cultural memory of the dance . i undertook this by studying the Lakhey dance of the Newars. This topic is a very important one for me because of the gentrification and westernization of Kathmandu valley, the deep seated knowledge that resides in the native festivals and the many rituals are being over looked for its aesthetic value only. So, writing a paper was my way of carrying the knowledge forward from the past to the present. The two of my classes that allowed me to do so was DNCE 362 AND DNCE 255.
